Counseling Backround and Education for Glenn Maarse in Seattle

Experience with Clinical Psychology and Psychoanalysis
I have been a Clinical Psychologist in private practice for over 15 years, working with adolescents and adults of different ages, sexual orientation and gender.  I have spent the last 5 years specializing in Psychoanalysis.

As a Clinical Psychologist, I have a breadth of knowledge regarding human development and the causes of symptoms and problems.  I have extensive experience in applying a variety of treatment modalities and will draw on these as they relate to your needs and situation.

After years of practice as a Psychologist, I focused my attention on the practice of Psychoanalysis.  I believe that understanding the depth of one’s psyche and exploring one’s inner world and conflicts with the help of another can lead to transformational results; including finding your potential and being more at peace with yourself and the world.

The following are highlights of my educational background:

  • BA, University of California at Berkeley
  • MA and Ph.D., California School of Professional Psychology – Los Angeles
  • Advanced Certificate in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy – Seattle Psychoanalytic Society and Institute
  • Clinical Associate – Intensive training in Psychoanalysis – Seattle Psychoanalytic Society and Institute

I have a dedicated interest in serving LGBTQ people and a willingness to explore the stressors that confront minority communities.   I was a clinician and supervisor at Seattle Counseling Service, and have been involved in leadership positions and organizations that further the practice and craft of Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis.
